July 10, 2014 will be a special day. That day User Groups from Indiana, Chicao, St. Louis, the Twin Cities, Kansas City, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Louisville and Nebraska will form together to one giant user group meeting. I’m envisioning that day the User Group Leaders will come together very much like Voltron and create a User Group event of epic portions.
This event is called Midwest Dreamin’ and I’m going to be there. It’s going to be Legen-wait for it –
dary… Legendary (my apologizes to Neil Patrick Harris).
So what gives?
Midwest Dreamin’ is an event by Salesforce users for Salesforce users. It truly will be an epic user group meeting. The event will at the Navy Pier in Chicago, IL from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central.
There will be keynotes, breakout sessions, an expo and let’s not forget lunch and snacks!
This is a big event and it won’t be free. Yes, I hear your groans right now. The good news it is very inexpensive. Register before April 30th, you’ll get 50% off! $50.00 gets you full day of Salesforce awesomeness. So stop and register now! http://midwestdreamin.com/Register/
Why I’m Excited
I’m excited because this is going to be fantastic event. I’m even more excited because who will be speaking for keynotes. We’ll start the day with Peter Coffee, Salesforce.com VP for Strategic Research. You know him. He opens every Dreamforce keynote, interviews customers, and gives amazing insights into our evolving technical world.
We close with a keynote feature Shawna Wolverton and Todd Enders.
Shawna is the Senior Director of Product Management. She’s also one of the most awesome people you should get to know at Salesforce.com. You would recognize Shawna if you watched the True to the Core session from Dreamforce 2013 found on my Wizard Watch list.
Todd Enders is a Senior Director of Product Marketing. Todd is one of the most entertaining presenters I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. I have no idea what they’ll be talking about, but it’s sure to be good!
I love attending User Group meetings. The opportunity to network and learn something new is always there. This meeting should increase that opportunity to learn by a factor of 10. There will be five break out sessions with various topics and great presenters. The hour lunch period will be great to network with attendees and vendors alike. I will be very surprised and disappointed in myself if I walk away from this event without learning at least 5 new things.
The expo hall will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM leaving lots of time to visit with vendors and needle them with questions. I mentioned in my previous post about the Salesforce1 tour that having a small event provides a better opportunity to actually talk and listen. This should be no different!
This will be a great big User Group meeting. Go, Register and get ready to enjoy the awesomeness. You too can be in the Midwest Dreamin’.
